Worlasi in an interview with Abeiku Santana on Okay FM disclose that the National Democratic Congress is yet to pay him for copyright infringement prior to the 2020 elections.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC),prior to the 2020 election use Worlasi Langani song without his knowledge and this has cause him complaining till now.
Worlasi made a video and posted on his Twitter account asking the NDC party to pay him for using his song ‘One Life’ for a documentary that was played at the launch of the party’s manifesto.
“NDC, you didn’t help me make my music. You did not help me in any way in my life for me to create good music. I am not part of your manifesto so please do the right thing. Make sure you make to me the necessary payments. Do what is right and start wiring the money,” he said in a video.
The Chairman of the Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO) and also a spokesperson for the party’s creative arts, Rex Omar acknowledged that the party has made a mistake and therefore infringe on copyright, and promised that his party would compensate Worlasi for the infringement.
In the interview Worlasi disclosed that after several meeting with the NDC party, they are yet to get to bring a mutual understanding to the matter.
